Dilbar Fashion House
About Us

The history of the Dilbar Fashion House has started only recently. April 22, 2004 is the date of official opening of the Fashion House and commencement of the new phase in an illustrious biography of Dilbar Ashimbayeva, its Designer and Creative Director. Prior to that Dilbar designed costumes for cinema and theater projects, worked on creation of various apparel, shoes and accessories collections, creating artwork for interiors of most modern and prestigious edifices of the Kyrgyz and Kazakh capitals and actively participated in numerous international fairs and expos in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain and the United States.

The Fashion House that succeeded Dilbar’s own design studio called Kok-Art is only starting to live. The future lies before it. However, participation in the cultural exchange program during the Indian week in Kyrgyzstan has already been planned and very soon (in October 2004) the first brand boutique shop will open in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). Among the most memorable events that happened during this short period of time one can mention participation in the musical festival in Freiburg (June 2004) and presentation of the Dilbar Fashion House at which unique collection of apparel called “Dyeva-Ptitsa” was presented. An unusual bright show was organized whose entourage contained major artistic principles of Dilbar Ashimbayeva. The general patterns peacefully coexisted with obviously Oriental attributes: brave hunters with falcons meet their guests at the entrance of the hall decorated with unusual compositions: in the streamy draperies of Oriental materials one could spot vases with Oriental sweets and banquettes of bright flowers…

Dilbar Ashimbayeva is the designer and creative director of the Dilbar Fashion House whose history started in June 2004. Dilbar’s creative biography started in her childhood when she created royal costumes and decorations for her dolls and the neighbors’ children’s’ dolls. Trying to contribute to creation of the beauty she entered the Department of Applied Art of Moscow Textile Academy that she graduated from with honors in 1990 and later returned to her native town of Bishkek . Here Dilbar’s talent found application in various spheres.

From 1990 till present days Dilbar Ashimbayeva has been creating costumes for cinema and theater projects. She was the author of theatrical costumes for such operas as “Othello” by Giuseppe Verdi, “The Queen of Spades” by P. I. Tchaikovsky, “Gianni Scicci” by Giacomo Puccini, ballets “Corsair” by Adolph Adana, “Spartacus” by Aram Hachaturyan, etc. All these plays were conducted on the stage of the Maldybayev State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet. Dilbar’s costumes were worn by characters of the history movie “Secret Melody” based on the book of the same name by one of the founding father of Kyrgyz prose Aaly Tokombayev as well as the movie “Universe of Manas” of Melis Ubukeyev, a famous Kyrgyz historian, ethnography specialist and Manas expert who learned the scientific secrets from the great Gumilyev. Dilbar also was the costume director for such ethnographic projects as “Muras” and the Ordo-Sakhna musical theater.

A notable moment in Dilbar Ashimbayeva’s fate was the opening in June 2004 of the Dilbar Fashion House that succeeded her own Kok-Art design studio launched in 2000. At the presentation of the Fashion House a new collection of apparel called “Dyeva-Ptitsa” was displayed whose underlying motives were cast by ancient legends of Asia . Also in that month Dilbar’s collection participated in the musical festival of contemporary music “Marco Polo Suitcase” held in Freiburg ( Germany ) and Feltkirche ( Austria ).

In December 2004, Dilbar Fashion House opened the first designer show-room in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Dilbar's showroom offers everything from elegant clothing for business women to chic evening dresses for special occasions.
