Etiqod Co., a Tashkent based furniture manufacturer, has been selected among all EI clients in Uzbekistan to participate in Trade Mission to Canton Fair 2006 led by Regional Trade Promotion Practice.   The reason of Client’s decision to participate in the Trade Mission was to identify opportunities to purchase new veneer sheet making machines to be used in their furniture manufacturing line. 

 

During the Trade Mission Client together with Leonid Nim, Tashkent based RTP Trade Specialist and a member of the Trade Mission, has had several meetings with Chinese suppliers of veneer sheet making machines, selected several suppliers and started preliminary negotiations and equipment test runs.  After selection of one supplier, Quingdao Wood Working Machinery, Client visited this supplier’s site in Beijing province, negotiated for the price and the equipment supply terms, and conducted final test runs with the supplier’s technical personnel.

 

After arriving back to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Client has been settling all details of the equipment supply contract in accordance with the laws of both Uzbekistan and China.  However, the finalization of the equipment supply contract did not allow both parties to effect the equipment supply as it has been lastly identified that the Quingdao Wood Working Machinery did not hold an export license for conducting export shipments outside of China.  RTP Trade Specialist Leonid Nim has found and recommended a Chinese agency, Hebei Landbridge Trading Co. Ltd., holding an export license and, addiitonally, having a representative office in Tashkent, the destination point for the equipment to be supplied. 

 

Finally, after one week of the negotiations among Etiqod Co., the buyer of the equipment, Quingdao Wood Working Machinery, the supplier of the equipment, and Hebei Landbridge Trading Co. Ltd., holder of an export license for shipments delivery outside of China, the final version of the contract for supply of veneer sheet making machines has been signed for the total amount of $ 39,900.00.
